Our Mission:

To serve our neighborhood and each other by deterring crime in the Rotonda West Community

Our History

Rotonda West Neighborhood Watch was founded in 1981 by resident Sam Ippolito. Sam recruited volunteers to patrol the neighborhood and citizen band radios were purchased to maintain communication between the patrols and the base. As the community grew, so did the organization which now has a membership of nearly 200 persons operating with cell phones.

Implementation

  • Close affiliation and cooperation with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Department
  • Nightly patrols in all seven subdivisons
  • Volunteers are additional eyes and ears
  • Emergency Response Task Force to search for lost children or impaired adults
